My name is Dakota Calderon, I've been teaching and educating students for 8 years now. I graduated college with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Public Communication and a Master's Degree in Teaching students Grades 1-6. I am certified in NYS in Special Education Grades 1-6. 

Education isn’t just a job for me, it’s a career that blossomed into a deep passion. I took that passion and dug a little deeper. Now I’ve gone from classroom teacher, and grade level leader to Edu-preneur! Owning my own tutoring business providing quality education and practicing rigorous academic skills online and in person, allows me to support students and families by tutoring, I  can help strengthen subject comprehension, boost confidence, and build important learning skills. Tutoring gives students individualized attention that they don't get in a crowded classroom. This helps children who struggle to keep up, as well as those who aren't challenged enough.

I started Calderon Tutoring Services during the pandemic, when education took a major turn. The quality of education declined and students stopped receiving the support and resources they needed. That burned a fire in me to start my own support service and business to partner with schools and parents to overcome this crisis. I’ve been educating students online and watching their results transform & sky rocket since 2018. My business seeds were planted in August 2020 and began sprouting November 2021. 

My favorite quote is “Be the change you want to see”. I’m not just a teacher, educator, or a leader, but a change maker, trailblazer, and advocate for all students and children. The change I want to see is in education so I’m blazing the trail as I go; one student at a time.
